Bhavesh Kukreja asked about posting certifications and Leetcode on LinkedIn.
- There were mixed opinions, but the overall conclusion was to do it initially if one feels like it, but definitely transition out of that with time.
- Obviously if the certification is an extremely respected or prestigious one, do post about it.

  - Sharing projects and actual knowledge would be better than just posting about some certification.
  - Sure, post about a certification if one cares about it and if it really is a prestigious one, but let that not be most of what one posts.
  - If one has worked, built things and has shared knowledge, there is usually enough to share on social media and on one’s résumé to automatically get rid of things that don’t really matter.

- Beacon requests to make requests without waiting for responses. This can be useful to send some non-critical data to the server or to wake up a sleeping server.

    This is using the Fetch API and not a Beacon request, but it can be done with a Beacon request as well.

Cybersecurity
- Jaden Furtado shared his talk at SINCON 2024 Lights Out - Hacking Power Generation Infrastructure - by Karan Sajnani & Jaden Furtado.
- We talked about operating systems like Arch, BlackArch, Ubuntu, Pop!_OS, Parrot OS and Kali Linux from Cybersecurity and general usage standpoints.
- Jaden Furtado told us how he uses Shodan to search for open ports and find security vulnerabilities, both at work and for his personal research.
  - Harsh Kapadia asked why not use a tool like Nmap, but Jaden said that if he uses the tool directly, then the firewalls of systems that he is trying to test or attack might find his IP address or just ban his IP address. Instead of setting up proxy machines to prevent his IP from being exposed, he just uses Shodan.
- Uma Iyer shared OSINT Framework, a collection of free resources for Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).
Rishit Dagli shared a course on Algorithm Design, Analysis & Complexity.
Alpesh Bhagwatkar talked about his implementation of adding VRAM consumption support to hyprdots, an open source project that displays system information in the toolbar at the top of his Linux machine.
Harsh Khatri told us how he had recently bought a 3D printer and was in the process of printing a cute little boat as his first project. That boat is supposed to be the 'Hello World' program of the 3D printing world.

Projects Showcased

Jia Harisinghani shared an update on her project Algorific, a React.js application for learning, visualization and gamification of data structures.
Dheeraj Lalwani and Chirag Lulla showcased the released version of their application Dekho, a video streaming platform.
- Dekho is a research and study project aimed at understanding and mastering the intricacies of audio and video streaming.
- Their primary focus was on implementing the HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) protocol to build an on-demand live streaming server.
- Dekho achieved Peerlist’s no. 1 project of the week in Jan 2025.
